What Is Immortal Internet Marketing?
What is Immortal Internet Marketing?
Most importantly to me, it’s the name of my business.
The reason I chose that name is that I’ve faced death more than twice and I’m still here.
That’s not what I want to talk about here today (You can read about that here).
I believe that most of the concepts you need to know to effectively market a business online are the same ones that Dan Kennedy teaches. Marketing is exactly the same now as it was 150 years ago.
You must market yourself and your company at all times. No marketing = No sales. Even if your customers refer their friends to you, that is done by treating them right and creating an amazing experience for them. It’s still marketing.
Direct marketing and online marketing are different in the methods used to reach the customer and that is the only difference. A great sales letter can be effective in the form of an actual letter that goes out to your customer’s mailbox as it is on a website. Sales copy is always written with one thing in mind: Closing the sale.
Building a customer list is as effective for a store that sells knitting supplies as it is to the average information marketer online. It will always mean that you have the power to generate sales easily by letting your “list” know that you have something for them.
Unused space on a website is no different from empty shelves at your local Walgreens. If there is no product there for sale, you won’t be selling any of that product that belongs in that space. If there isn’t a product that belongs there, you should probably find one.
Advertising your business offline through Yellow Pages is really no different than making sure that Google finds and ranks your site well. Ranking well in the Search Engines takes more time, but it doesn’t have to take more money. The Yellow Pages are $5,000 per year for most companies. You make the choice of whether you want to spend time or money.
Marketing is based around the idea of finding your customers and making sure they know you exist. Offline, that could be your local grocery store, your Chamber of Commerce, or your kid’s school. Online, it could be MySpace, Twitter, or a forum. The choice is yours, how are you going to reach them?
This is the main premise of this blog. Marketing is simply marketing. We’ll be talking about all different types of online marketing here and I look forward to sharing with you. For more on Hybrid Marketing, visit Lee and Robin Collins Blog.
This blog is built to give “link love” to those that post comments, questions, and thoughts here. I want to hear what you have to say and you deserve to be rewarded for your ideas.
Thank you for visiting and I look forward to having some fun with you.

Thanks Ross –
Being fairly new to internet marketing I appreciate the analogies to direct/offline marketing and your straightforward — non-lingo-ey approach in this new blog! : )
Might as well also take this opportunity to thank you for the various u-streams I’ve caught of you as well!
Blessings,

Thanks to both of you lovely ladies for being the first to comment on my new blog.
I think the time has come to create something that only provides value. This will be a “work in progress” for the foreseeable future, but I feel the need to do it and it must be done.

Thanks for the reminder that truth is immortal.
Marketing principles that work will continue to work as long as they are built on making meaningful connections with real people.
