Who Is Ross Goldberg?
My story…
I have an interesting story. My life has been crazy.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs until my parents split. Their split was ugly and hard for myself and my triplet brothers and sister (2 boys and a girl). My Mom remarried a few days after the divorce was finalized and we all moved to Wisconsin.
The area we moved to was 90 minutes from Chicago, so we didn’t go that far. It felt like a million miles away from home though. People were very different and it was a huge adjustment.
Once I hit my teenage years, I became enthralled with gangster rap music. This also got me to a point where I was enthralled with gangs. I began causing trouble with the local “wannabes” in our tiny town. Eventually, I realized how stupid they were and began hanging out with the hardcore gangster crowd.
A few years later, I wasn’t just a gang member. I was a gang leader. This was also when I joined the Army Reserves (quite the combination – LOL)
I was the kid in High School that walked the mile run with a cigarette in my mouth, so running a few miles every other day tore my body apart.
I ruined my ankles within a matter of days.
When I finished training, I went home in immense pain. My Army unit refused to get me into a Doctor, so I refused to show up for my monthly drills.
One year later, I went back. I signed up with the Army to serve my country and wanted to fulfill my obligation.
Shortly after I went back, I began suffering from massive pain. It took years to figure out that I had Fibromyalgia.
My first born child arrived when I was 24 and I realized that it was time to let the gang crap go. I retired and sent everyone on to build real lives for themselves.
The Department of Veterans Affairs decided that I should be rehabilitated, as my experience was in retail management and I couldn’t stand on my feet for 50+ hours per week.
I went back to school for Psychology. They gave us $1000 per month for my wife, myself and my 2 kids (1 more was on the way) to live on. I turned to my wife one day and said to her “Honey, we can’t live like this anymore. I’m going to look around on the internet to see if I can find something I can sell to make us some extra money”.
I started my business by opening an Ebay Store. I went into a coma shortly after due to military vaccinations. I came home paralyzed, but had $1000 profit sitting in my Paypal account. That was the end of me working for anyone but myself. I love being home with my three kids and being able to get up from my desk whenever I feel like it. The freedom that comes from working for yourself can’t be beaten by any job on earth.
I’ve actually had 2 brushes with death. I nearly died in 2003, as well as my coma in 2005. I was leaving a bar with a few friends and we got attacked by a group of 20 people. A car pulled up and a guy walked out with a gun. He began walking toward my best friend. I was absolutely annihilated (drunk out of my mind) and decided to step in the way. I asked him “We live in Wisconsin, what are you going to do with that?”, his response was to pull the trigger.
The funny thing was that the gun was full of BBs, not bullets. I responded by punching this genius. He responded by hitting me with the butt of the gun. The problem here is that the butt of a BB gun has a 1/2 inch metal nub on it. That nub knocked a portion of my skull up against my brain. I blacked out for a few seconds. I do not remember any thing that happened next, but am told that I stomped on at least 5 of the 20 guys that attacked us. I guess I was angry
The hit from the pistol missed my temple by an inch. $30,000 worth of neurosurgery later, I was as good as new!
I mention this because it has a lot to do with what I want to tell you next.
During my coma in 2005, I had a conversation with someone. I don’t know who the conversation was with. It could have been The Almighty, An Angel, or a Cruel Nurse. I will never know the truth. I do know that the conversation has changed my life dramatically.
The conversation consisted of a lot of questions from me, trying to understand what was happening. During my coma I hallucinated the entire time (this may be part of those hallucinations). I asked what was going on and why I was sick. The response was that I should be dead.
He stated that I had lightning running through my veins and would not be going anywhere anytime soon. This man said that I had too much to offer the world to be taken away and until I fulfilled what he needed me to do, I would be invulnerable to anything that may take me away from what he needed me to do. He stated that this was the second time he intervened when I was on the verge of death.
That day my wife brought my 6 month old son to see me (he just turned 3). I remember opening my eyes and locking stares with my son. I awoke from my coma the next day.
I decided shortly after our first year that I would be better suited to helping others succeed. I now focus on creating info products and software to help people succeed with their own business.
